Revival Continues

Revival is coming to Seneca county and Harmony wants to be involved!

Why reviveOHIO?

The story of reviveOHIO begins with the desire of a local radio station to see their community revived and encouraged by the power of the Gospel. Having experienced reviveINDIANA through their parent station in Fort Wayne, Indiana, STAR 88.3 wants to see the same unity and outreach take place in the sister community they serve in western Ohio. Representatives from STAR reached out to Time to Revive, inviting the ministry to partner with them in Darke County, Ohio to see revival spread across the Indiana-Ohio state line.

Our Method

As Jesus interacted with people throughout His earthly ministry, we see this pattern emerge in His life: Jesus LOVED, He LISTENED, He DISCERNED, and then He RESPONDED as He was led by the Holy Spirit. As we equip believers to share the Gospel, we follow this pattern modeled by Jesus.

Believers are trained first to LOVE the individual, then to LISTEN to him or her, to DISCERN how the Holy Spirit is working and leading, and then to RESPOND accordingly, whether that’s to pray with the person, encourage them with Scripture, serve them in a tangible way, share the Gospel, or all of the above. Believers are trained to understand and articulate the Gospel in a clear and concise manner that makes them ready to give a reason for the hope they have whenever the Holy Spirit prompts them.

In Matthew 28:19-20, Jesus commands His followers to “go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit and teaching them to observe all that I commanded you.” Both evangelism and discipleship are at the heart of reviveOHIO, and both must accompany each other in order to see true revival.

In Ephesians 4:11-12, Paul writes, “And he gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the shepherds and teachers, to equip the saints for the work of ministry, for building up the body of Christ.”

For too long in the American church, we’ve assumed that evangelism is a specialized gifting or skill, and if you don’t have it, you’re off the hook. Both the enemy and our culture fuels this apathy with lies like “You don’t know enough,” or “You’re going to offend people if you push your beliefs on them.”

reviveOHIO models a different approach so that you will feel equipped to share God’s love in a way that brings life into every conversation.

Discipleship is key to the sustenance of reviveOHIO. As people encounter Christ through the reviveOHIO outreaches, they need someone to walk with them, showing them what it looks like to follow Jesus. They may be brand new believers or existing believers who desire to deepen their relationship with Christ. Following the model of 1 Thessalonians 2:8, it’s our desire to not only share the Gospel with our neighbors, but also our lives, as they learn and grow in their faith.

Every person who requests follow up during a reviveOHIO outreach is matched with a local “disciple-maker.” As a disciple-maker, you will be trained, given resources, and connected with a mentor who can help you navigate the discipleship process with your newfound brother or sister in Christ. Are you ready for God to use you to make a lasting impact in His Kingdom?

This Sunday, Nov. 4th our revival continues as Pastor Don Matolyak comes to share Christ in both the 10:40 am worship service and again at 7pm. Don is the field manager  in the Church Ministries Department of the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association. The public is invited to attend!

Harmony UMC is having different evangelical speakers give the message monthly to reach the world for Christ. This month will be Jason DeZurik on Sunday, Oct 28th at both the morning worship @ 10:20am and at 7pm for the evening service.

Jason and Jaya DeZurik have been married for 21 years and have been blessed with 6 children.  On December 15, 2017 Jason had a life threatening stroke and on December 16, 2017 he had life saving brain surgery.  Jason is a leading Christian speaker for students and host of the radio show, Do Not Keep Silent. He has been the morning show host for New Morning Praise on WXML – 90.1FM in Northwest Ohio since January 2015. His reputation for presenting Biblical truth, candid opinions and playful personality have made Do Not Keep Silent one of the most listened to programs on the New Vision FM radio network. Because he has been involved in youth ministry since 1996, DeZurik is respected as a leading expert on teen spirituality. Jason’s unique blend of modern Christian music and insightful views on student issues has captured the attention of young at heart followers of all ages. DeZurik also speaks at Christian schools, clubs, youth events, and music festivals. He has spoken in over 20 states in the last 5 years. Online, he maintains a strong social networking presence and leads a team of bloggers for Worldview Warriors, the nonprofit ministry he helped found, to equip students to impact this generation for Jesus Christ in 2006.

DeZurik and his team connect with students using tools of music and the latest technologies, to inspire them to follow Christ, exhort them with stories of struggles and triumphs from interviews with Christ followers, and bring real life answers to living out a Christian worldview.

Everyone is encouraged to attend! Our doors are always open.
