Praising God
Visiting the residents at Friedman Village at Christmas 2018.
2018 Overview
AUGUST – Served in the soup kitchen at St. Paul UMC in Tiffin two different days.
OCTOBER– We hosted the “Trunk or Treat” party. This is a hit every year. It was a potluck style meal in the fellowship hall. It was held at the same time as the H.O.O. campfire on Sat. Oct 20th.
NOV – We participated in Project Feed again this year. This year the date was Sat. Nov 10, the cost is $5 with a canned food item for their food pantry. The youth stopped for a bite to eat afterwards.
Bible Quiz also began in Nov and Janice is our amazing coach. We need a few more youth on our team!
OPERATION CHRISTMAS CHILD – Of course, we love to partner with the ladies in UMW to pack shoeboxes for Samaritan’s Purse. It’s fun to buy for underprivileged children and share the gospel at the same time.
CRAFT SHOW – We participated in a craft show to raise money for our trip to WinterJam. All items were handmade!
SALVATION ARMY –The Youth group worked on evening ringing the bell for the Salvation Army in front of Ace Hardware! Batman even helped!
Our fundraiser this year is the Harmony Cookbooks, “Homemade from Harmony” and sell for $12.00 each. Filled with favorite recipes from our wonderful cooks at Harmony, these cookbooks make great gifts! Contact us for more details http://www.becky.weisenauer@gmail.com.
We had a great time at Winter Jam in Columbus Jan 20, 2018.
2017
Feb 23-24th 30 hr. Famine – Recycled Youth
We partnered with Pietist Church to have a fun weekend while focusing on world hunger. Everyone ate their normal lunch on Friday but then we fasted until 6pm Saturday. We stayed overnight at the Pietist church with sleeping bag and pillows! We finished with a spaghetti dinner together and discussed our emotions that we experienced from the experience.
March 11-17th – Haiti Mission Trip –
Luke, Renea, Peg, Angie, and Becky traveled to Haiti to visit one of our missionaries that the church supports, Andris and Mary Jane Jolibois at the Living Hope Ministries school. While there we helped at the school during Vacation Bible School teaching and making crafts. We also observed and visited with culinary class, sewing class, business class, and welding classes. Check out Living Hope Ministries web page: http://www.livinghopehaiti.org. If you are interested in sponsoring a student in their school it only costs about $1.00/day. It helps provide a full meal, textbooks, and supplies. Please contact us if you want more information or if you would like us to share our pictures and details about our trip at your church or organization. http://www.becky.weisenauer@gmail.com
